Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

cackleberry - the rebates that the consumer can make in those windows is really very small. It’s good business for them but never going to save you a lot tbh. They have to go to market to meet high demand periods. To cover they would probably be paying high prices. They reduce demand, well you do, and they give a tiny sliver of what they save back to you.

And yeah, if I were you I’d be trying to run down that credit balance a bit one way or another. They might drag their heels with a rebate. You might have an alternative of reducing monthly payments for a while.

good for you TR. that’s the way a battery should be used optimally. Nice work!

I had another look at the email and followed the links and the ** deviations. Even using the table they do, to save £7 on laundry equates to 25 loads.

I am all for economising to both save me money and to spread the power load/help the environment but the promised savings are a load of bumf.

Yep, TR and WW that is what I figured.

Our peak usage is low, or at least for things we could switch off/do later. Other than boiling the kettle for a brew when I get in from work!

I don't get much back from the saver sessions, partly because my heating comes on fairly late, at half five. But iirc last winter they yielded about a tenner. Which equals a couple of pasties or a pasty and a pint, so why not.

My credit is now all but gone. In fact if we have a cold march I could be in debit soon. The dropping prices and reduced usage is well timed but I may need to push my payment up a little

Unless a larger later increase is going to be a big shock, I’d let the debit build up and wait until they ask for it. But that’s just me.

I don’t like being in debit and also I would like to take some credit into next winter.

Similar figures here Hann, getting billed roughly 100 quid more than I'm actually using 😳

Need to look at my numbers properly.
