My gas has stopped sending to the smart meter. Had this problem last year and despite submitting readings every month Eon didn’t bill me at all.
I’m manually doing readings now for octopus when I remember and they are billing me. Pretty poor situation tbh

Is this the right number I'm supposed to give them when reading the meter?
Cause that means I've used next to nothing all winter, as my last smart meter reading they retrieved in October was 15844

We've just noticed that Octopus swapped our meters round about a year ago...I'm sure that sorting it out will be a joyful and fulfilling experience.

I'm very happy with Octopus. However they have grown very quickly and I think that customer service now can be the luck of the draw - do you deal with an old-timer who knows them thoroughly or a recent joiner who is less sure. I've also heard of reported issues falling between the cracks - another sign of growing possibly too quick. If I need to contact them I always direct message on twitter and I've always had a good response

Spring is sprung and according to my statement for the past month the charge for electricity consumed minus the payment for electricity exported came to a tenner more than the DD. I reckon I'll break even or show a small profit next month. Maybe it's time to claim back some of that £450 surplus.
