Think all charging points should just take payment by card, preferably contactless given the amount is unlikely to go over the limit. Registering for apps and the like seems pointless to the customer.

Saw the all electric new Skoda yesterday, it is huge!

Slightly tempted to be fair.

Is that the Enyaq FR? Looks great. 32k-42k is a bit rich for me! :-) G

My local Skoda dealership keeps inviting me to VIP events to see & drive the New Enyaq ...

I'd love to. But not at that price!

And fuzzyduck - yeah, exactly, just let you do a contactless or chip and PIN depending on amount etc.

I think the problem is the model hasn't yet established itself. Where do you plug in? Is it supermarket trickle charge for free? Is it money making? Should there be a cafe/restaurant or shopping connection? Garage forecourts make loads of money from selling stuff other than the fuel.

Anyway, it will be fine for me, as I will 90% be charging at home I suspect. But I've ordered the Charge Your Car "membership" RFID tag. Really stupid system. Just a barrier to usage, imho. And £20! :-O

That's the bit that annoys me too HG. It's a bit like having to have a membership fee to use (say) BP garages for petrol/diesel or being charged differential rates at the fuel pump with higher for non-subscribers etc. It just feels unnecessarily complex and trying drive a brand loyalty that really need not be pushed. We've got used to (with liquid fuels) just rocking up at any garage and filling up; it should be the same for electricity too with any loyalty schemes being "bonuses" on top.

Larks, got my home charge point. Looks like scheduled start and stop times can be controlled by car AND charge point. An embarrassment of choices. I'll let you know tomorrow if it worked. Possible embarrassment of failures! :-) G

Timed overnight charging worked! 00.30 for about 2 hours at full bhuna then lower as it approached 100% it seems (graphs and everything!)

Amazing coming out to a car full of "fuel" without having to go via a garage. And at a cost of £0.68p (was only 13.6kWh as it was 3/4 full - was just a trial) Loving it! :-) G

Nice. I don't get graphs, and I do love a bit of data so I'm jealous!
