Painfully hot for me today. I generally can't function above 16 dgrees lol! Still I managed to scrape a new marathon PB only 7 months after having my gorgeous wee baby girl who was waiting at the finish with her daddy Job done
Well done to everyone today!! You are all awesome - runner and spectator alike.
Special shout-out to all the hose-pipe people!!!

Hats off to each and every one of you marathoners. I did 10k yesterday and know a fraction of what you encountered. Huge respect to all of you xx

Well done everyone! I managed 4:17:36, rather slower than I had hoped but not bad for a first time. And the heat... wow... seriously... wow!

fab race, i loved it! having only actually run once since london (4.01) plus the heat id decided to just run to how i felt comfortable, finished in 4.09 which im well chuffed with considering heat & a toilet stop - wheels sort of fell off at 23 miles being really hot but was really pleased id not pushed myself earlier in the race as some people were in a bad way quite early on
saw a few fetchies along route, hosepipes were amazing, route was lovely, much nicer experience on the whole than london, only thing for me would be that the water stations were a bit far apart - missed the one with gels towards the end as not much water there & there wasnt another one, thankful for some ladies that were handing out cups outside thier house. we had to get straight to the airport, home now, hope your all having a fab time if your still there!

Who was the fetchie training for an ironman? We chatted (with my mate) running down the hill out of Edinburgh. Hope you got a good time.
Was impressed by the number of Welsh supporters. I ran past a few people from Grangetown and got a massive cheer when I told them I was a Grangetown boy!

Im A Runner
I have to say it was a great success today, they really sorted the finish out this year. Spectators were outstanding once again, the jelly babies, the glasses of water and the hose pipes, great vibe all day and a PB for me coming in at 3.51.16, a whole six minutes from last year at Edinburgh and a whole ten minutes from lochaber this year.

jacs205 - yeah that was me. I finished 5.29 too so we must have crossed the finish almost together. I was slower than I expected also but you know what I had a blast - the crowd was great, the support was great, the finish was great (although I did kind of collapse onto the grass for ten minutes and not move much) and the medal, why do they make them so heavy, I had to take mine off to walk to the car - it is amazing. The kids kept singing Jessie J's Money at me all night - you know "It's all about the ba bling ba bling". Speedy Mel - I saw the Gladiator with the nice number on his a*se!!! And mmmmmmm was quite a nice a*se after all, she wasn't lying!!!!! McNewbie - how did you do????
