It's just a pity that you do one lap of the track, then run around a lot of pointless side roads, with absolutely no scenery, to make up the remaining 10 miles or so. Very disappointing whilst running, but great fun being on the pit wall afterwards. The Blackpool Half Marathon was another dull race for me. I expected it to be great, but essentially it's a straight 6 mile course which you go up and down (starting in the middle), looking out at the same bit of sea for mile after mile. Normally I could look out to sea all day if sat relaxing, but the bleak endlessness of the water isn't exactly inspiring when running. It didn't encourage me to enter the marathon and do the course twice.

postieboy May 2013 7:34pm, 20 May 2013 1,856 posts	0 postieboy If they do Luton again in the future (not this year as they are finally knocking down the grotesque Purley Centre), you'll be dodging bullets to keep things interesting. 11 shootings in Luton this year, a lot of them not far from the route.
