Dull races

Dvorak May 2013 6:38pm, 19 May 2013 6,985 posts	0 Dvorak I've just run the dullest race I have ever done, The Monklands Half Marathon. It was "don't want to finish" dull (though I did in the end). Whilst I appreciate the efforts of race organisers etc ... . I have previously wondered why, for a race just outside Glasgow on fairly easy-profiled course, it consistently attracted such a small field. Now I know. What very dull race have you done?

shyfire May 2013 7:00pm, 19 May 2013 506 posts	0 shyfire Oh, take it no one had ever warned you Dvorak Drumpellier is a nice enough park for the odd run (except at peak dog/pram/granny walking time on a sunday), the Scottish Vets 'Snowball' race at just under 5 miles works but the half ... round and about and about again. NLC organise Monklands and dont market it particularly well which is a shame since if they revamped it the route it could have potential.

Velociraptor May 2013 7:00pm, 19 May 2013 25,444 posts	0 Velociraptor I don't know why, but I found the White Peak Marathon extremely monotonous until 24 miles, when it kinda gets a little bit interesting because you get to run down a big hill.
