Lovely fruit Hanneke. I also fucking hate porridge - vile gluey stuff.

My newt for today is buying a new duvet cover for the bed in my room. It has the Manchester bees on it.

Nice work one the bike, Kirsty. :-)

Also not a porridge person - but then I'm either not keen or actively dislike most of the distance runners favourites: porridge, pasta, bananas, donuts, malt loaf...

that's ok as I'm not a distance runner and live entirely on chicken breasts, slabs of white fish and protein powders.

Growing you own oranges is brilliant, Hanneke!

My newt for today is having a small amount of bare leg on my walk for the first time this year. I wore my weird cutoff flared jeans and short socks so there was a whole 2 inches displayed :-)

Excellent newting, folks. Very impressed by a UK grown orange!

Newts aplenty here today too - put washing out to dry on the line in the garden for the first time this year, walked the dogs on a newt to all of us path, it'll become an addition to the regular routes that within easy distance of the house, I think (might even warrant moving my SWS square), now Sam is outside building a barbecue we bought at the end of last summer and have had sitting in a box all winter so we can use it to cook dinner, and any minute now I'll (hopefully, if the link works for people) be having a video meet up with folk from the crafting thread.

oh, and rescue daffs are now fully blooming on the desk in front of me too, which is nice.

My newt for today is picking up a new to us dishwasher! I don’t really want a dishwasher but mr jelly dies and I’ve just given in!

I don’t like porridge either but usually have a bowl of ready brek before a marathon race! I never eat pasta, it’s a texture thing!

Pukka tea and yogi tea good

Today’s newt ... not very inspiring turbo of 2 halves on 2 new virtual routes

Yogi tea ... choco flavour! New! Need to brew longer than suggested hoping that and the pukka vanilla chai will help with sweet cravings

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
