I am clutching at straws for a newt today, so mine is that I used my lovely yellow Blunt umbrella for the first time this year, when I went out to get a coffee at lunchtime.

My NEWT today is not very pleasant...

I was supposed to have a first date with a promising bloke. First thing this morning I got a text: so sorry, have to cancel. Had my CoVod jab yesterday and am having a bad reaction to it. I messaged back couple of times today to see how he is but haven't heard back... I hope he is ok...

Because I am a recluse who lives a self sufficient life in a rural part of the country, this i my first actual brush with covid... No-one has had it around here and in 2020 only 2 people died of it in our rather large rural NHS ward... Also, I haven't actually seen anyone in many months... it has rather shocked me to be honest... First time in months you are supposed to meet up with someone, outside the bakery for a take away coffee and pastries I hasten to add, as nothing is open apart from supermarkets, and he more or less drops dead before you get to meet him. Story of my life! I think I shall crawl back under the stone etc etc etc

Thanks, I hope so too... his text sounded dire, while up to this morning he had been very chirpy. And promising...

Hope you hear from him again soon Hanney

Had an unexpected newt at 1am this morning. Couldn't sleep so decided to pair up my new ear buds that arrived yesterday with my phone (they were a free gift with my upgrade). Ended up laying on the sofa listening to music until the batteries does, the sound was amazing and so crystal clear. Very impressed with them.

My newt is a run with OH for the first time since Dec. Hopefully.

And yesterday I had some new tea. Pukka vanilla chai.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
