I've just got my bike out. I'm joining a small group of ladies for Breeze ride for the first time since 2017. It's only a gentle 11 miles but I'll cycle there and back too, adding another 9. It's a bit frosty but the sun will soon burn that off.
Happy Easter Newters :)

Merry Easter, jinglers!

It has been a lovely season of newt hings, thanks to Sharkie for the encouragement and all of you for sharing. It really has brightened the last six weeks up for me.

I enjoyed a real g&t in the bath yesterday, and some real beer while watching France annihilate Wales in the six nations, and have had real buttery croissants and a few little chocolate eggs for breakfast. Bacon sandwiches coming up for lunch and classic lamb for dinner :D

Happy Easter my newty friends!

I did have my bonfire... It got a bit out of hand: the fire spread onto the feeding pile that is right under an apple tree. I daren't go and check this morning! How badly has it damaged the tree?

No other newts to report, as it is the second Easter that I am not in the Netherlands with my family, so not a newt... Meh!

1st (and last minute) newt - got a graphics tablet and paint package recently - and here's the first result. More painting by numbers than George Stubbs.....

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
