Mowing the lawn is not really gardening in my book :) I can mow mine as it’s underneath a ping pong table. Might as well give up on having a lawn this year!

True. Mowing the lawn doesn’t really count. Did cut back the hardy fuchsia and buddleia. That was more hacking rather than proper gardening really. 😜

Monty Don wants us all to Be Less Lawn. Am not inclined to argue with Saint Monty. Our has disappeared under an orchard of fruit trees anyway.

Mowing the lawn used to be cross training... Now there is just gardening. Not the same in my view. I wouldnt log gardening but mowing the lawn, especially without a self propelled mower, is hard work!

Nice lunchtime walk along the old railway line. The wild garlic is finally coming through. It will soon smell amazing up there.

Nice Mrs J!

The wild garlic bulbs I saved a few weeks ago are coming up in the garden! Exciting!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
