Planted out my broad beans yesterday and they are looking quite perky this morning.

Did I mention the first Dkylark on my first Nordic walk with my newt poles on Saturday?

Also: hedgerows now covered in a subtle but noticeable green haze :)

I’d noticed how many hedges and bushes now have buds or green leaves starting to appear. It is starting to feel like spring!

Happy Monday(s), Jinglers.

Less than a week 'til the clocks spring forwards, a week today and Outdoors is ON. A mere fortnight before the most successful ever* DANT draws to a triumphant close.

Let's make it a fun filled, newt jingling, springy two weeks.

* every year except last is the most successful ever, last year sort of fizzled out as we reeled under Lockdown One.

Whereas this year we are gaining momentum for a grand finale!!! 😀 Hopedully, we will all be doing newt things we haven't been allowed to do this year or even for over a year! Next week we get a further release of restrictions and on 12 April again, right?

Yeah 29th we can meet up to 6 people outside can’t wait!! (Shame my furniture is destroyed maybe some old sheets over to to hide the mess.

I was in Australia this time last year we had some rainy days but the weather at the minute is horrendous so glad we’re not there this year.

Quiet newting today as I have vaccine fever.

I have noticed the buds in hedgerows and trees coming to life it’s so refreshing! Brighter days ahead all round.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
