TOTP too :)

I went for my first bike ride since last May! It became a mega faff as the tubeless tyres had deflated, the sealant had sealed the valves shut so I couldnt undo them, my bike computer was dead, two friends cam by for things... Couldnt find my winter tights, so went out in summer capris brrrr and for the 50 odd mjnutes I was out the sun went. Bloody typical! Out now, but I have to do the hoovering...
But, a little over 10 miles, tough loop with a steep climb to make it into something worthwhile. Plan is to ad a loop each week, until the end of May, when stay local gets lifted and I can go on a huge bike packing trip...

Loved the blue tit photo, GM!
Good cycling, Hann!
My newt was going for a dog walk with someone I’ve never walked with before. Moo and I rented her house in the New Forest for a weekend in 2005 and 2006 and now she’s moved up here and doesn’t know anyone so I suggested we go for a walk. It was really nice :)

Great photo GM wishing your little family a successful year.

A few newts today, firstly vax done, we then went for a walk and heard our first woodpecker of the year and saw a pair of nuthatches we had to look it up as neither of us have ever seen them before. They were very busy.

We also saw 2 deer but not newts as I saw one a few weeks ago. Ellie was paddling today she normally goes in but doesn’t stay long today we could t get her out

I alsi saw this lovely little pink flower adding in a bit of colour to the green.

I then had to go to drop a card off and had the roof down on the mini.

VERY exciting Gimme! Such a sign of Spring and hope, it had to be the best Newt 🧡

Those red flowers are a flowering currant GG. Lovely little dog too!

Old newt shoes for me today (Hoka Carbon X). I had them as a birthday present in January 2020, intending them to be my marathon racing shoes for London 2020. Well, we all know what happened there! So they sat in the box for well over a year (they're only suitable for flat, even surfaces so no use to me on the hills where I live). I ventured down to Holme Pierrepont, which is only about 6 miles away, but until now I've been very strict about only running from home (but now the council are digging up the only flat bit of footpath so I have no choice!). I had 10 miles at 7 min miling on the schedule, so I ran the route of the Notts 10. It came out at 6.53s, which is nearly marathon pace. Pretty chuffed with that as I wasn't even particularly out of breath.

You've had a great comeback since your enforced time out, CC2!

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
