Made pizza tonight had the dough in the garage to keep it from over proving. Went to collect it and there was a bloody mouse in the garage. Dough was securely covered and mouse was in the floor but I got the fright of my life. The dog is sacked!

Pizza night unaffected. A newt in that I used a new brand flour and a new beer dough recipe. Huge success

Yay to pizza, pinemartens and smelly candles 😀

I had a soak in the bath... With a not so newt book. But... The newt thing for this week is picking up all books I started sometimes years ago, then put aside in favour of something more literary.
These are all books on nutrition, herbalism, naturopathy and essential for my studies/practice. I have managed to newt three of them this week.

I has kickstarted my studies too, another newt! Not don anything for years 😱

I’ve just made some biscuits for the first time in living memory. It must be 20+ years since I made biscuits... next time I’ll use unsalted butter... :-)

You’re on fire Hann!!

I love reading I would normally be very easily led astray by a book but as I’ve moved to varifocal glasses that I don’t get on with and my trial of contact lenses is not really working (I rally only need reading glasses but struggling to k is what is best) I’ve lost off reading. It makes me very sad. If I had the money i would certainly have lense replacement surgery. Sigh

Oh, I have done a little thing- ordered a new book from our wonderful local bookshop- Michael Rosen's account of his experience of Covid- Many Different Kinds of Love He's a bit of a hero of mine and I think he writes beautifully. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

So, to be clear: I was awarded Newt of the day yesterday, so today I choose a new one, right? Not from yesterday, as that would be doubling up?

Yesterday was a hard one to beat mind, such glorious collections of fabulous newts!

But here on the Welsh Borders the sun is shining and I have a list of things to do:
Hoover
short bike ride! will be a newt, as almost a year since I last went out on the bike,
cut the grass
sow seeds.
And my bubble is back from Luasanne :) so supper with a friend tonight, whoop!

Happy newting boys and girls!

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
