Had a brilliant day. Picked up Shanksi after falling into mud heading back to the car. Ended up helping out with timing when we got back. Have had a long bath and now washing everything to get the mud out! See you next year 😀

Corrah did you make the halfway flapjacks?? And you do realise that being the short arse of half way means you have to go to the Station and get royally drunk.

First of all, many thanks to all the Fetchies who came & sought me out before the race. It was nice to meet you all. Apologies if I seemed a bit reserved. I’m afraid that even with my hearing aids in, I still miss big chunks of conversations. Hence my wife does all the talking & then fills me in with what was said afterwards.
The volunteers were absolutely brilliant. I know I shouldn’t single anyone out, but there was a lady at the 1/4 & 3/4 checkpoints who must have been tipped off about my deafness. She couldn’t do enough for me & enquired on more than one occasion about my wellbeing. Luckily I managed to lipread some of what she was saying.
As to the race itself, in a perverse sort of way, I thoroughly enjoyed it. In the last 5 miles, I must admit I was starting to feel the cold. Commiserations to all those who didn’t finish.
Finally, another apology. We won’t be coming to the party at the Station Hotel in Stonehaven. I fear a sleep on the settee is beckoning. Let’s face, I’m not getting any younger.

Sorry we didn't speak 12BD but well done on the race - and I admit your spirit (like isn't a word I have used much today except for the marshals).
I was genuinely a bit worries about the cold and wet. Especially at CP3 where its exposed and my certain knowledge that I would be walk/running a bit thereafter. I have packed based on the weather report the previous evening - which was a lot better than the actual amount of rain.
Now Im off to the pub.

Well done everyone! I hated that rain, my gloves got soaked so my hands were freezing. I saw a couple of folk at bus stops. Glad it’s done!

How did the after race party go last night at the Station Hotel, or can’t anybody remember?
