Another Garmin device in the house? I was trying to avoid more kit. But, if I were to have to put something on a birthday list, which is the best basic Edge model?

Ride with GPS is an excellent planning app and plenty of functionality with the free version, we use it for club rides. I haven’t used it for following a route or tracking so can’t advise on that bit (I export to my Garmin Edge)

Have a look at dcrainmaker.com There’s also a comparison chart on his site. It depends on what functionality and type of rides you do. I’ve got a 1040 for the bigger screen for my long / night rides. |

Use Garmin connect (or Fetch) for free route planning. Both work really well.

My map thing on my bike is made by Wahoo. It's pretty good, and I can upload routes to it from FE.

I went for the Hunts in the end - got a good deal on them because there's a spelling mistake on them. They look good, and sound great. I've now been tubeless for about a week - and it's been *such* a complete pain. I don't know if all the sealant's leaked out, or it's just rubbish - but there's nowhere I can get more from at 6pm on a Friday night. So if I wake up to another pair of flats tomorrow, I'm switching back to tubes. I'm entered in next week's Ride London, but at this rate I can see myself DNS. |

How are they being problematic? Are they puncturing regularly whilst riding? Are they not inflating at all, or are they losing pressure over a few hours after being pumped up?

They're losing pressure (dropping from ~56psi to ~40psi overnight - 5 nights in a row now) There seem to be punctures that are invisible to the naked eye but that are obvious with a bit of soapy water - the kind that I'd expect sealant to seal, but it isn't. |

Usual culprits seem to be more/different rim tape, tyres not sitting flush with rim (so leaking air), washer for valve not screwed tight enough (my usual error) or tyres and sealant incompatible. I’ve read about tyres sold as tubeless “ready” when they’re not. It is frustrating. |
