I think you're likely to find that for most insurers. I insure the bakfiets separate to home cover, with ETA, but even as a company that started from active travel campaigning, they still insist on a sold secure lock away from home. It's fairly easy on that to carry a big lock, but not what you want on a lightweight racer. I'd be interested if anyone has found someone who'll cover with a cafe lock. |

I think I'll have to accept I can't carry a big lock to cafes. But the locks I do have I don't have receipts or details any more... Also want to know if anybody had claimed and found it easy/difficult |

I claimed on a pedalcover policy for a crash on a group ride that wrote off my frame and found the process fine. But no idea about theft claims.

I use Wiggle insurance. It seems reasonable, and I bought a lock on their "must have" list for about 25 quid off Amazon. It's a Yale with a chain you could tether the Queen May with. So not too onerous. Also have the third party liability insurance with them. For that, and insuring a £2500 bike, about 13 quid a month. |

Yeah, the lead guitarist from Queen doesn't need much tethering these days

AndyS Hope wheels have been pretty good on my steel bike, the rims have survived all kinds of stuff including a big pothole that bust both the rear tyre and the saddle rail!

Is there a decent free/cheap app for route planning and navigating? I used the OS app today which was OK but not always easy to see the route trace as you approach a junction. Thanks. |

I just use Fetch and export to my Garmin Edge. Still a bit new to me, but it's pretty easy to follow and warns of sharp bends etc.
