Well done England. However, poor show by WI, ok 3 wickets taken with the new ball, but the others? Not very special. Trot should stand down for his own good. It can not be doing him any benefit. Better to return to county cricket and sort himself out. Maybe then he will be up for the summer ahead. The pitches in WI have not made for the best play. Well done for getting a positive result England.

Both Boycott & Vaughan have said he's not an opener. Could be biased I know, but how about Mark Stoneman from Durham?

What about Adam Lyth? Selected on the back of being the leading run-scorer in CC Div 1, and another ton already this season.
And he's already in the West Indies, but not playing for some reason?

So looks like Root is getting the ODI Captaincy gig. Not entirely sure about this, being England Captain seems to ruin batting ability and he's far too important - and also I'd rather he had a better and more positive/forward thinking coach to work with than old Pecker.
Having said that, not sure who else there is, Buttler maybe?

I like Taylor as ODI captain. If you are going to field a side of young smashers totally distinct from the test side, he seems like a decent shot.

'Head coach Peter Moores says he is "very excited" by the talent within the England Test team'
the Talent Rank cell must have changed colour.

So is today the day? The straightjacket thrown off, from the rubble of a dismal 18 months will a new England step up, build on the win last week and play some aggressive, assertive and positive cricket?
*wonders if he is getting bank holiday weekend fever*
