Jon Lewis says the reason that Australia thumping England is not because of lack of preparation and fitness, but instead because Australia as a country is warmer and sunnier than the UK.

I can confirm that Australia is warmer and sunnier. Recommend.

Does this mean we’re likely to get thumped by Portugal? I can also confirm that to be warmer and sunnier.

It was very stupid interview in terms of his answers, agree @rf_fozzy - they are bloody professional athletes with indoor training centres in the UK FFS. Crap excuse. I have issues with how the women’s cricket team are portrayed by their social media as well which I don’t think helps - they aren’t treated in the same way as the men, they might be trying to get more women to take up cricket by doing what they do with their posts but they don’t always come across as professional sports people in the same way the men do - I think I saw a post earlier on in the thread about it looking like they were having a lovely holiday out in Aus, and it’s very much shown like that at times rather than descent, proper ‘we are a professional team’ coverage. Some of the things they get them to do would look wrong/even more stupid if you substituted the women for the men or even the word men for women in some of the things they get asked - you realise how inappropriate professionally it is. IDK 🤷♀️🤦♀️ I’d say there was a fitness issue in the side with some players. I’d also say that people are expecting cricketers to be looking like female runners and to be slight and far slimmer. |

Ooooof. I listened to the first part this morning - England appeared to bowl well and be far better in the field. Commentary was positive. Checked Crickinfo and oh my…. Total collapse in batting wasn’t it… however I’m not sure you can say collapse as there was nothing to collapse from. Just poor. |

Second or else third ball went for 4 then mainly a procession other than Heather Knight. I turned it off at 7 down but Henry Moeran went from “we can win this” and to “abysmal” |

Am I allowed to say another meek collapse? We'll see what happens in the mens game currently. India chasing 166. |

I do fear for them in the test match now. No way Lewis can repair as coach and Knight as captain after this tour. |
