Especially when they don't believe how long it is since you played I would recommend getting a thigh pad (or two, as most players wear one on the back leg as well nowdays) I was glad of mine last week, and I've already hit a couple of batters myself

I still bowl a heavy ball. Back in the day, I would say I was quick. I might be 25 years older and significantly wider, but I've bowled hundreds of balls in the nets at Mini Nico over the last 18 months, so the action is pretty well grooved.

Having dropped down to one team last year, we're entering two in the Saturday league this year. So far have 17 players committed but really need about 30 to be sure to cover unavailabilities. We're hopeful of getting there but the league entry deadline is end of this month, so there's going to be a bit of fingers crossed!

The Sunday 1st XI were represented by 25 players last year, of which nine played 10 or more matches. The Sunday 2nd XI were represented by 30 players, with seven playing 10 or more matches.

We've just now got a couple of juniors who will play some senior cricket this year, but it's a ten year project to get a proper stream of junior->senior going

Yep, I took it back to the Wombat factory in Ivybridge. It's had three sets of stickers since I bought it. Nice to get all the evidence of all the bad shots cleaned off Did I ever tell you about the time I shared a rooftop swimming pool with the entire England Women's Cricket team? They were lovely.
