It is interesting what will happen now. I have the feeling this is the end of an era, i.e Swann/Anderson/Trott/KP, it may take some time befroe they are all gone, but I think it wil happen. As far as I can see, Finn has to play now, as possibly does Rankin, Broad may well be out. Swaan got carted, but also bowled badly, so I think he has to go first.

Long term, Cook isn't captain, this his more his team and they are negative, reactionary rather than proactive. Who will replace him, really difficult. Bell, Prior, Broad, traditionally it is a batsman, however batting is now our problem, sp perhaps it is Broad. Cokk will bat well again, so you keep him.

Anderson, bowling ok, but not his old self, probbal ynneds a rest/kick up the arse, Onions, draft him in. I suppose back home in England he willget wickts still, so he maybe still aroubd come the next Ashes series.

Spinner, if Swann is shot, it has to be Panesar for now, but long term that is really diffiucult. Borthwick maybe. Perhaps, as we have lost we may as well teach KP alessona nd get shot, pick Balance, he may well get as many runs. Bresnan is history, Stokes can bow as well as him and has just got a century in hs second game.

So. My 11 for Boxing day. Cook, Carbs, Root, Bell, Balance, Stokes, Prior, Rankin, Finn, Onions, Panesar.

We could regress a long way from here before we have a very good team again. I have enjoed the last 10 years of success, but it seems it is some one else's time now.

3-2 means nothing - it is all a bit like the Davis cup when they play the dead rubbers

I think it's called momentum, if you ask me the Aussies are playing well now because they made changes half-way through the 3-0 defeat in England.

You're right 3-2 means nothing, and if it ends up like that (which it might do as Aus sometimes don't always focus too much on dead rubbers) then I hope it doesn't paper over the cracks. Worst scenario for me is KP not getting dropped for the next 2 tests, making some runs and then preventing someone else getting experience against the Indians. The same goes for Swann and to a lesser extent Prior & Jimmy.

think England will win at least one of the last two tests. I went yesterday (day 4) at the WACA ...... although they were outclassed, the conditions over this weekend are brutal... Jimmy Anderson poor tour and the sledging reaction comment in Brisbane was a massive error of judgement...

Spinner if Swannis in way out then Scotty Borthwick from DURHAM. To replace Trott, Mark Stoneman of DURHAM. Stokes is all ready there and to replace Broad/Anderson, Onions of DURHAM.
Biased? Perhaps but we were County Champions.
