Finn is a 90mph bowler. Tell him to go out and just bowl FAST!

Evening Teabers. In Wh Smith's today I was looking at the front cover of "The Cricketer" and it featured the 5 England "pace" bowlers Anderson, Broad, Finn, Rankin and Tremlett with the headline "Bouncers" -presumably inside there was an article on what they were going to do to the Aussies (presumably not suggesting they serve up buffet bowling !) Significantly 2 of them haven't played at all and they played Bresnan, bless him, after 3 months off -no way was he match -attuned.
Stokes was nowhere to be seen but has been the bright light out of the whiole debacle. All I can offer from Lancashire is Simon Kerrigan at the moment -who to be honest deserves better than the trashing he has had so far, yes I know he got hit round the park but he's not own his own now is he ?? Develop players like him and give them a chance to replace the old guard gradually.
On KP -as Michael Vaughan says the "it's how I play" line is one he's used all his career. Well to be honest he can play some fantastic innings and shots but fuck it, let's pull the trapdoor lever. Send him home and let him play 20/20 and one day for England if he wants -20/20 suits his attention span at the moment
Next testm -Cook, Carberry, Root, Bell, Ballance, Bairstow (wkt), Stokes, Finn (or Rankin), Bresnan, Anderson, Monty.

KP has won more tests for England with amazing innings than any other batsman I can think of in my time watching. If he hadn't had the chutzpah (and a smidge of luck) in 2005 to do what he did at the Oval, we wouldn't have won the Ashes for 20 years. Say what you like about his character, but the success of the 2000s test teams has made some supporters churlish when we would have given anything for a batsman of his class in the 80s and 90s.

Fair points Teabers. Perhaps I'm becoming like Boycott. In fairness Pietersen is box office and I'd much rather see him bat on balance than Alaistair Cook for example, I like seeing Bell bat too his style is great. It's KP's giving his wicket away which is annoying but he hasn't been on his own there this series.
I think he will stay in the team in actual fact. I think they'll make one or two changes tops

It's worth remembering that only 1 year ago the Australians were moaning about how Harris and Mitchell were always getting crocked, they had no quality openers, Nathan Lyon was no substitute for Shane Warne, etc. the same players have just got their act together and ours could, too.

Sad as I think he has generally been fantastic for English cricket.
Not unexpected though if it happens, been gradually detaching himself for a while and has been a little conspicuous by his absence on this tour (remember how Lehmann fronted up in England). It may be a good thing, as I wonder whether he genuinely could perform the team and culture surgery needed given how well he knows the players.
Not sure who they will go with, promote the King of Spain or maybe someone from the County circuit?
