Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I could imagine a local fell race being relatively low risk if there was none of the usual pre- and post-race banter. For me there’d therefore be little point doing it but it come be appealing to some runners

I can't see what the specific context of the large v small events thing is in the SAGE documents, but find it hard to believe it is really relevant to large v small running events as um implies. There are people already starting to think about races with small/staggered fields within the acceptable limits and I see that as fairly low risk but would expect participants to make some efforts not to draft at close quarters.

A race organiser hereabouts has just moved an evening 5k that was originally planned for late June to 8th July and expressed the expectation that they'll be able to hold all four races in the series before the end of the summer.

Twitter is full of people 'who know' planning for second spikes in different parts of the country from June to September. One of these includes someone whose mother has had her contract operation moved from August to 'as soon as possible' so it can be done in the lull before it all kicks off again...

I find the Welsh guidelines quite clear and sensible. If we allow people to travel too far then it is quite simple, we'll get thousands turning up from nw England every sunny day. How do we manage social distancing then?

They are asking us to sensibly use common sense to interpret the guidelines and act like adults.

Sorry ph, but I've of totally the opposite opinion, I think they've done far better than the idiots in Westminster.

Bonners. I'm not comparing with England.

But. That 5 mile rule...erm..yes or no. The cycling guidelines.

Er...what...
Doesn't personally affect me as my social running and interaction used to be outside of Wales at weekends but the guidance is wishy washy and confusing

Cyclops ...I've no evidence but I personally am trying to get my home patients up to the hozzie to be seen and have stuff done while I can.

Not had any leave since Feb...wasnt officially cancelled but " strongly suggested " we took none from April to June. Knew it was bad when they said we could carry over for 2 years. Unprecedented.

Anyway. I'll be doing a couple days here and there. Avoiding clinic days. As we have restarted clinics and I dont know how long it will be before we cant again. Just trying to mitigate the fall out for non Covid shite

I get where you're coming from ph, but once you start to relax the guidelines there has to be a bit of grey areas around the edges. The way I see it is if you live in a rural area you just need to use a bit of common sense with how you interpret the guidelines.

The importance is to not have a hoard of tourists descending.

Bonners . The 5 mile thing is ridiculous.

Someone I know has to drive 10 miles to her nearest supermarket. Her mum lives a mile from there. She thinks she cant see her mum
