TM, I can also do that at their house as well as you can get in through their side gate and no need to touch anything and at least it's his toys and his house if he needs the toilet.

I say again. What about staff looking after Covid positive / potentially covid positive patients. We cant all isolate as soon as we've been exposed , can we?

How is track and trace going to deal with that?
Our Health Board have already considered testing asymptomatic staff routinely and are backing off fast. I'm not surprised

PH, I would anticipate that staff looking after covid positive cases should not need self-isolate if they are using adequate PPE at the time of exposure. This is an anticipation based on hope as much as on evidence, at this time. An adequate test and trace program should be able to confirm or refute this hope fairly rapidly.

On the other hand hospital or care staff who are exposed to a covid case without adequate PPE should be isolated. It is especially important that hospital and care staff avoid spreading the virus to vulnerable people. This is why I, like many others, have been appalled by the lack of PPE for both hospital and care staff.

Yeah but the bluetooth app would tag them and staff would get hassled.

And asymptomatic staff are * not* being tested. Neither were we if " exposed".

Which is correct...as what would be the point?

When do you do the test.

Nope. Isolation for 14 days

And. We only wear PPE if in direct contact with a patient. In clinic. We dont. The 2 metre rule is observed. But if one of those patients tested positive....
I'm not concerned for myself at all
But it could fair decimate available staff when a large proportion of them are already off shielding!
Someone has to do the work

I work in palliative care...I'm still seeing people dying with covid most days, I'd have to self-isolate the whole time...oh, hang on, maybe there is an upside to this :-P

(sorry...that may be misconstrued as insensitive. I just mean, for NHS staff with our shitty inadequate multi-use-despite-packaging-clearly-labelling-it-as-single-use, being notified and having to self-isolate every time we're in contact with someone with or suspected as having covid would be impractical)
