We have access to tests if anyone we share a home with is symptomatic. I suppose (but I haven't checked) that also applies if we have treated someone who is symptomatic

We have those pinny aprons, gloves, and masks. And it's hard to do a full oro-motor assessment or swallowing assessment without

1. The patient being able to see your mouth
2. Putting your finger on the patient's face
3. Using a pen torch to see inside a patient's mouth.

4. Feeling the swallow (on the neck) and encouraging a cough.

No one at my hospital is tested just for having treated a covid or suspect covid patient.

Regular testing for staff would have a place, given an estimated 1/5 of hospital cases caught covid whilst in hospital. Not all of them caught it from other patients. Would also be interesting to see how well the PPE was actually protecting us...

Yumee to be fair we have surgical masks , plastic gloves and aprons. We've been graciously allowed the masks for direct patient contact, while being told its "over and above " what's needed for patients who are not known Covid.
Personally I'm not anxious for myself. I wear my mask because all my patients are in the highly vulnerable and shielding group.

Unfortunately they have to come to hozzie

I'm sorry that you are having such an awful time. For the sake of others who may wish to know. We don't seem to have the same problems with inadequate PPE or sick staff of staff who can't get tested. There must be a lot of regional variation
