Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Good question Jritchie. Based on stuff written by Flatlander (or at least my interpretation of it) we are leaving shopping packed for 24 hours to allow any virus on packaging/bags to die off.

I don't think your mother should be washing down her friend, EvilPixie :-o Unless maybe she has a hose, or a very long handled brush.

Reasonable and proportional enforcement of laws, yes.

Sleepwalking into a police state, no.

If so many people weren't trying to impose their interpretation of the guidelines on others (probably because they don't do it themselves) like stating as a fact that you can only exercise once a day including walking your dog or run for thirty minutes then other people may not feel the need to challenge it?

“Community deaths” have been included in that figure I think, and backdated as well, basically non-hospital deaths (home or care home) where the death certificate suggests that CV might have been present, but no testing done. That’s as I understand it anyway, happy to be corrected.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Legal stuff - various ministers (including the PM) have been issuing advice/guidance/opinion on the restrictions on movement that isn’t the same as the actual laws that were passed, and not always the same thing as the other minister are saying. They were probably trying to simplify the message but instead have left confusion.

E.g. - the law does specific that someone can leave their home to avoid a risk of harm, but none of the guidance I’ve seen says that. The law also says nothing specific about exercise other than it must be either alone or with other members of your household.
