Exiting news!!

Mum has had no internet or landline for a month now (talk talk are sh*t), this is the 3rd time this year she's had an outage and she's finally spoken to BT to move. And organised a smart phone.

Phone arrived but wouldn't work .... EE lady on the phone suggested she went to a shop .... the closest is the centre of Reading

She did it! She said how busy town was and the shop but she had to do it!

I'm hoping this may tempted her out again (and hope to God she hasn't caught anything given CV19 is very much still out there)

Good news, Pix :)

I've got the plague too now. LFT negative this morning but there's no doubt from the symptoms in the context of having a household contact.

Aw. Shame, Vrap. :( My first test was negative too but I had the start of symptoms. Was a faint positive 24 hours later. Have been clear again since Sunday.

That is good news, Pix. Hope her confidence grows so she can gradually get out a bit more.

Happy, that may not count as an official positive but I’d still bet you have it. The line doesn’t just appear for no reason.

Partly agree - symptoms and the late appearing faint line would definitely make me wary of being around that person for a while (and a negative test would do little to convince me they must be clear, plenty of people with covid have tested LFT negative)

But on the flipside, there's a reason the instructions say test invalid after a certain time because sometimes the strip does dry out and show a line without any positive sample having touched it. I've had this with other (non Covid antigen) LFT tests anyway.

My approach would be more tests for that person and try different swab types from other brands if possible.

Sorry to hear that, V’Rap. 🙁 I hope the fact that you’re as fit as a butcher’s dog means you don’t suffer too harshly or for too long - anecdotally, of course, but anyone I know who is very fit has bounced back quite quickly.

I have a funeral to go to today and I’m dreading it. It’ll be the first time I’ve been in the company of more than one person in a very long time. I’ll be wearing a mask and doing my best to stay at arm’s length from people at every opportunity, and I’m definitely not going to the after-reception, but I still feel like the outcome is inevitable.

Oh v'rap, yes it was only a matter of time, but still, it sucks. Hope you don't feel too bad with it.

Regarding the line after 30mins, I've seen those lines and they're usually very faint, not really photographable faint. The ones on the previous page were dark in comparison to an evaporation line.
