EP - just googled it. I’m no scientist but surely the UV would be a cancer risk in the same way sunbeds are?

Surely greater transmission risk in an enclosed space too?

I would assume they only do the cleaning bit when empty
UK hospitals are using robotic UV cleaners and no one is allowed in the room whilst it works

"UV would be a cancer risk"
Depends on wavelength.
UV is not a single wavelength of light. The range of light called UV is much broader (10-400nm) than for visible light (400-700nm).
Some UV exposure is crucial for the formation of vitamin D....

Too Much Water
As someone who has taken buses in Seoul a fair bit it’s a very different experience to the UK. Utilitarian but efficient.
Zero talking by passengers (none of the chavs playing music through phone speakers), the bus driver expects you off the bus as soon as he stops (no waiting for you to get up from your seat etc). Also travel is only by (T Money) - the Oystercard equivalent.
And naturally if male or under 60 offer a seat to a senior.

"passengers must have their temperature checked by an automated thermal-imaging camera. The doors will not slide open for anyone with a temperature above 37.5C."
Why are people persisting with this bollocks?
Skin temperature is *not* a good measure of a someone having a fever.
Plus there are many ways that body temperature can be increased that have nowt to do with disease.
E.g. running FFS.
Also this will completely miss asymptomatic cases.
It's bollocks psuedoscience.

I also wonder if this is only for the main enclosed bus stations (Usually at the bottom of a tower block) not the individual stops.

"passengers must have their temperature checked by an automated thermal-imaging camera. The doors will not slide open for anyone with a temperature above 37.5C."
Why are people persisting with this pseudoscientific nonesense?
Measuring the surface body temperature is *not* a good measure of someone having a fever.
Plus there are many things that *can* raise body temp that have nothing to do with disease.
E.g. Running!
It's absolute bollocks.
It'll also miss asymptomatic cases....
Pseudoscientific bollocks.
