I posted this about the vaccine queue calculator on the politics thread after JB had posted re vaccination rate, but it's more relevant to here. Any views?
I'm confused by the calculator: I'm 60, it says there are max 15.5m ahead of me, and using a rate of 2.5m per week I'll be vaccinated by 27th April - but 15.5 is just over 6 weeks at 2.5m which would be mid-March. Second jabs won't start to be due till end of March (12 weeks), so that shouldn't impact. Have I got the maths wrong or have they?

Just realised the government's daily covid stats site isn't listed on the useful links section. Can it be added please SK?

My FiL finishes his 10 day quarantine tomorrow. His first appointment on release? Vaccination at 10.45am, followed by a trip to the tyre dealership to get his car legal again! No trouble getting a rearranged appt for vaccination.

Hope he doesn't get stopped until after his second appointment of the day.

UK stats by country available here

coronavstats.co.uk

so we can see that Scotland is mostly doing half as badly as England. It's only updated weekly, though.

Nice to see elsewhere that hospitalisations have been coming down for a day or three.

A year ago today since the hospital I work at treated the first coronavirus patients in the UK. I remember the media camped out at the gates. And I remember feeling safe because the patients were in a high consequence infectious diseases unit.

Oh how things changed!

I've had a look, TR and I am as puzzled as you are. A week or so back it had me at 22/3 but now I am 9/4 so I dunno.

I hear Captain Sir Tom has been taken into hospital with covid. Praying he makes a full recovery.

Spoke to my auntie and uncle last night, uncle sounded more like his old self and was being cheeky so suspect he’s on the mend. What a relief it’s been a long few months of worry. They’ve both decided to take early retirement so hoping they get to enjoy some quality time & return of good health in the next few months

Baz - it could be because she is housebound. There seems to be a bit of a delay in England for those that can't traval to a centre but aren't in a home.

MiL had her first dose of the AZ vaccine yesterday and is feeling quite unwell. Fortunately I warned her this may happen so she had an easy meal prepared and paracetamol to hand and isn't worried by it.
