I think the Scotland way of only doing it via local GPs, even if a little slower, sounds much less stressful. I guess if they communicated it properly "if you are able to travel or arrange for someone to transport you, please confirm that you would like to come 100 miles, but if you can't please decline here, and we will contact you with a more local appointment. You do not need to take any other action. Thank you." That could work.

How stressful for your mum Beanz. And you.

I wish they’d put instructions on it if you can’t make that appointment it would at least put their mind at ease that they wouldn’t be forgotten.

HG my parents are travelling to another GP out with their area for their jag so it’s not being done by GP surgery. Not for the over 75s anyway.

My surgery says on it’s website that if you get a letter inviting you to book at a mass vaccination centre, to please let the surgery know (by email) so they can take you off their list of people to call.

Which suggests that surgeries will contact people who haven’t told them they’ve already been done elsewhere.

My old man had his a centre, he got a lift, slightly difficult to get to. I imagine it is a matter of speed/logistics and perhaps population density. NW London is pretty tightly packed these days, and he got the Pfizer vaccine, as we all know, not entirely easy to store at a local GPs. So I reckon how an individual got their vaccine would depend on cicrumstances rather than one country's system, or one areas system being 'better'.

Yeah, that's badly done, Beans. There is no way your Mum can travel to London, I'm stunned it's even been suggested. Sounds like an admin mistake - but she needs to be able to contact - can you email her surgery (if she can't) as Fragile suggests above.

The surgery I work at isn’t doing them as our building isn’t designed to able to have a safe in and out system.

I think that means to email if they’re going to the place invited to so they can be removed from the list ?
