I have heard that grandparents looking after their grandkids is now exempt. Surely a lot of these grandparents will be triggering the vulnerable and need protecting category?? I’m still convinced it was the eat out to help out campaign. Pubs reopened 4th July the rise has only just started the past couple of weeks. |

It’s been gradual from early July, but certainly got worse recently.

If over 60/70s are effectively locked down then I'm sorry, I'll have to form a not quite allowed bubble with my parents. I'd be sensible for everyone's sake, and not hug or touch, but for them to see noone for 6 months would be too upsetting. Although I also need them for childcare Feb half term so would have to essentially be a 2 household bubble. |

If I’m honest my cousins have formed a bubble with their parents. Y uncle is undergoing chemo for cancer so there is the worry he won’t make it and my auntie is struggling immensely from a mental health perspective. They ensure everything is 110%, when they see parents it’s with PPE and added protection but I think if I was in their shoes I’d do the same. They’ve managed since May and so far no one had caught/passed anything on. One of the kids had a cold recently and they all stayed isolated from the rest of the family. They don’t want out dad at risk but they couldn’t do this separated. Not everyone will agree I’m sure but as we’ve said before it’s everyone’s boats that differ and we obviously hope they all continue to be safe. |

If heightened restrictions are starting now, it feels like it can only get worse through the height of winter.

Most pubs I go to have been shutting at 10 since pubs reopened. They’re pretty empty by then anyway

I was in a meeting today, and it was said that unless the govt declares a full shutdown, or there is overwhelming evidence that it was becoming dangerous to staff/dependants/general public etc, our labs are remaining open. When the lockdown in March was announced, we were packing up about a week before everyone else. Part of the reason is that it took far far longer to open the labs than they expected after lockdown (mainly legionella issues, but also some others). I know that there are now contingency plans in place, but they're really keen not to close again. Partly because there are some financial implications. To be fair, the mitigation steps on campus are extremely thorough. All the labs have social distancing prototcols and occupancy levels etc. |

Although I don't think the above is officially policy, but I do think it is a key aim. I still think they'll make better decisions than the govt |
