Sounds like wfh as long as business won’t be impacted

I’m wfh anyway until new year at least .... I’m wondering if it will become the new norm

My office literally just reopened properly yesterday - combination of staff wfh or furloughed. Wonder if we’ll all be sent home again. I don’t know if he was joking, but when I was last discussing Covid with the RD he said if the office closed again that he’d shut it until Easter.

In a shift from recent messaging to try to get workers back into their offices and workplaces, Mr Gove said: "If you can work from home, do."

Asked how long the new measures would last, he said if we could succeed in beating back the virus, the measures could be relaxed.

"We are going to have a challenging six months," he said.

DT - Both potentially. It feels like any measures that do get things under control will have to last for most of the winter given the winter months are expected to make the spread worse.

The push to get people to stop WFH was always silly.

WRF apparently pubs and clubs are the safest place to be... apparently closing the pubs at 10pm are encouraging people to stay in and have house parties instead.

The absolute morons what is happening is people leaving the pub going for a takeaway and buying alcohol and hitting the streets/parks.

The people who are breaking the rules will do so yet those of us who stick to the rules are being punished from seeing loved ones.

Makes me so angry it is totally about pushing us to the bars/restaurants to see people. 🤬🤬🤬

Yeah we were encouraged to get back to the office to support the high street they are lunging from one idea to the next reacting time the businesses who are struggling to survive.

The pubs saying you need to support us financially, musicians saying pay us the money we’re losing from ticket sales, travel companies saying stop impacting people travelling, sport asking for financial support as they can’t sell tickets. It is a mad time. I don’t envy those trying to work it out but they have my head battered.

I am usually off to bed at 10pm so unlikely to be anywhere near a pub but I think if the pubs are closed at 10pm what is to stop them getting a carry out and taking it to someone’s house to continue with their evening.

That’s what’s happening ultracat. When we went to pubs we’d be heading home 10-11ish as the youngsters were coming out they’ll do it in reverse now.
