A while back the Q Covid website was useful for assessing inherent risk for individuals.

I wonder if / when they'll update the algorithm to account for vaccination?

That's a very good letter Scribbler, thank you for sharing it. Cases locally are still very much on the rise - local schools are particular hotspots and it feels as if half the town are back to home-schooling.

I really dont get the objection to masks and vaccines, unless there is a genuine medical reason.

I say that as someone who used to shake my head at the people who wore masks and even did so last March/April before my thinking started to change.

I hate wearing them and have to deal with steamed up glasses but view them as being something that we need to accept for the time being.

I hope at some time they get dropped, but right now is not the time

IMO we should probably be keeping things much as they are for a bit longer. With cases going up as they are, we will either go through this wave tolerably well in the next month or two, or it will go tits up in a big way. In either case, increased mixing right now seems more likely to make things worse than better.

Someone in my team at work suggested we should have our Friday team meetings in the pub from now on. I stopped short of 'are you off your friggin' head?' There are five of us, we all live in different towns and cases are again shooting up here so a great opportunity to spread it there.

Odd how differently different groups/people can view the same evidence. I'm optimistic that most of our contacts round here will be fairly slow and steady in relaxing their behaviour. If others want to be the herd that acquires immunity, that's fine by me, it's the ones that don't have a realistic choice that it's unfair to.

I was expecting a mail from work yesterday to say this is how we plan to get you back but nothing has happened
This is as far as I am concerned a good thing!
