Bread and butter pudding, served with custard, is also delicious but nothing like bread pudding. (Delia has a recipe for bread pudding in her Christmas recipe book, tastes very similar to my Gran’s).

And my best ever bread and butter pudding (a completely different thing) included lemon curd. I don't really bake now, though, because the oven isn't reliable enough and I don't have enough mouths to feed.
