She put lots of raisins and sultanas in it, plus probably some other dried fruits, but I don't remember any butter except perhaps to grease the bottom of the oven tray (this was many years before non-stick trays).

The pudding was made with panatone, cream and whatever else the recipe said, it was blooming lovely.
3M 8 Jan 8:43pm, 8 Jan 2025 25,502 posts	0 3M Both bread pudding and bread and butter pudding can be further improved by the addition of a little cinnamon and nutmeg (or use a panettone or hot cross buns). And by leaving out any orange or lemon peel in mixed fruit!
