Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I turned off the reindeer outside last night but our tree is still up until later today when, in a shower of needles, it'll be going outdoors to await collection.

I felt a little sad to look outside when I woke this morning and not see the neighbour’s outdoor lights.

When we lived in Belgium, decorations stayed up until the end of January. It helped to add a little colour and cheer to cold, damp, grey days.

Tree is now completely stripped. I ended up taking the lights off as well as I have more patience to coil them neatly ;-) Saying that they will probably still be a tangled mess when I come to unpack them for next Christmas!

Tree will be dismembered with smaller bits going into the garden waste bin. Larger bits and trunk will be burned as we have an working open fire.

Happy Birthday MM :-) cake

We dechristmassed yesterday.

Bringing in the lights from outside in the snow and rain (yes, there were both!) wasn't pleasant!

Everything is now back in the loft for 11 months. Except the tree which is soaking gently outside the patio door.

@Little Nemo, there's a whole scientific paper to be written on how Christmas lights become entangled whilst they are tucked away! I think it's a model of quantum entanglement and string theory in one place!

We have left our outside lights for now, and have had our star lights in our front window up for a couple of years now - they seem to keep the birds from flying into the window - that’s my excuse anyway!

I took ours down yesterday. Usually do it on the 6th but we're going away today so wouldn't have had time.

We put the Christmas bedlinen away yesterday. Considering getting a non-festive glow in the dark duvet cover for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I’m staying in today, it’s a festive landscape out there without the decorations ! Just realised my outdoor lights are still up but currently under around 30cm of snow so will stay there, but turned off.
