£55 Wow! I didn't realise how expensive they were!
Hope your MiL is recovering well from her hip replacement. Is she getting out and about well?
Hope you enjoy the running. I was hoping to get out for a run but my calf still isn't right. Might risk a short walk tomorrow instead.

Oops I almost dare not tell you how much our turkey was but it *is* huge and will provide many meals (most of them out of the freezer in coming weeks!) - but £104!

Morning everyone. Another one to add my thanks to Fetch and Katie and everyone on this site.
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.
I have my daughter and granddaughter here which is lovely. Need to get out for a run before they get up.

I suppose cos we usually go on holiday I've lost touch with how expensive they are. We didn't get a turkey this year

Not sure if our Christmas plans will work out, everyone in my house (except me and the cat) has been ill this last week. My OH was feeling rubbish yesterday so hoping he's better today.
Now better get going as I need to get some essentials (milk and bread) from the shop before everyone goes mad.

Elder son has confirmed he'll come down to us from boxing day till new year's eve. This is constrained by his intention to spend Christmas day hiking on the Lakeland fells (downgraded from wild camping tonight due to the weather), and his recent tradition of swimming in Ulswater on new year's day!

More importantly, I felt quite teary reading Ian's message today. This is undoubtedly the best corner if the internet with many kind people but it wouldn't happen without his energy and thouhtfulness. I hope you all find inner peace and serenity over the next few days!

We've already had our Christmas dinner, did it last week as that's when both sons & grandparents could be here. A small turkey & all the trimmings which cost little more than a regular Sunday roast, not the eye watering amounts we've seen this week. It's been a strange week with seeing Christmas preparations everywhere & we've already done ours.
Tomorrow will be a relaxed day; coffee, parkrun, pork pie & stilton for breakfast (a family tradition covering at least 5 generations) and leg of lamb.
Then the stress of New Year obligations will kick in😥

I feel very lucky to spend Christmas with family but will be popping on here for some peace intermittently!
