Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I started with a Gamma and the difference with the 100 lumen ones is that they give a much wider field of view which really helps

Gamma is great for road running or walking, but I wouldn’t want to try to run relatively quickly with one

I do intervals at sub 6min/mile with my gamma on, or tempos at 6m30s. Not sure if that counts as relatively quickly though. The top strap works really well to avoid bounce.

I moved to a chest torch after getting fed up with the head torch lighting up my breath on cold days, making it almost harder to see where I was going than having no torch at all!

Mine was a fairly basic one from Amazon or decathlon, I forget which, sorry. Took a bit of fiddling with the straps to get it to sit in just the right place but once I got it sorted it was very comfortable to wear.

I do workouts off-road with my Gamma.

Touch and go at times.

Tonight, I don't think anything would have helped as the fog reduced vision on the very tops to little more than 5m and half the light just bounced straight back in my face.

It is one of the reasons why I bought a secondary light, for quicker efforts and potentially more tricky off-road routes.

About This Thread

Maintained by
This was going to be a thread recommending me a lightweight head torch. However a comment from a fellow fetchie (thanks V'rap) got me thinking about chest torches instead. Having done a bit of research the only downfall I can see is that some of them seem to rock around a bit much, especially if you have a bit of a random up and down gait. So I wondered if anybody had used them and had any particular success or failures with any particular model, particularly with regard to lighting the...
