A fb friend of mine posted this on her fb status "Lovely ride out on the Mountain bike this morning did 21 miles. Most of the Brass Monkey route is clear but the section through Acaster Selby is not gritted or cleared of snow! Really enjoyed cycling thru the snow. Hot soup for lunch then a run in the snow later.........." Looks to me like we can assume it's off... |

Non-runner
From website: We regret that after having taken a final course inspection at 12:30 today , in the interest of the safety of all runners and volunteers the race has been cancelled. The Race memento will be available to be collected on Sunday at the venue . A club representative will be able to collect on behalf of their club entrants. The decision was not taken lightly and we appreciate how hard you have trained, your eagerness to run and the inconvenience to those who made travel arrangements. |

It won't be any consolation to those who hoped to run BM but 4 Villages has also gone: a pic on the website of volunteers trying to stay upright out on the course spoke volumes

holte - I very much doubt we'll be refunded. Having been on the organising committee of several races all the costs are pretty much before the event - traffic management/police/first aid etc so a large part of the money will pretty much have been spent.
