Just FYI, it's the Hebden 22 tomorrow (another Yorkshire event) and I think that might be looking dodgy due to weather. It's not the actual conditions that's the problem, just the ability of the various marshalls to reach the checkpoints!
Stanbury Splash won't be cancelled unless it gets really nasty and that's a very subjective term.

Hmmm... to travel down or not? My train leaves at 11am-ish on Saturday... visiting friend in York anyway so if race cancelled I wouldn't be wasting a journey but if we decided not to travel we'd only lose out on about £50 each including race entry as my travelodge is on a refund before 12 noon on day of arrival I think. Hmmm...I'm probably swaying more to stay in costa del scotland for the weekend

I would put money on those roads being icy tomorrow morning.

Fair enough - I'm inclined to just not come down - I mean I'm not in PB shape - my big sister probably is so will see if she's wanting to go. Would be more bothered about spending hours on delayed trains if they're slowed up with ice/snow.
Think I may have a jinx with this race - entered it 2 years ago and had a stress fracture so pulled out pre-christmas. I like York ... although given the shopping I had planned my bank cards may be happier..

Hmm, I shall continue to enjoy carbing up, regardless of the uncertainty!

given that I had a two week 'man-flu enforced' taper over Christmas I'm not having any taper and will continue to train right up to the race....if it's not on I'll just replace the race with my trip20 run.

I could also get into Folksworth 15 if they allowed on day ???
