I struggled to cross the finish line as I was knackered.
Why was it so hard? It wasn't *that* warm?

Quite humid though Johnny - and apparently there was a bit of headwind along Kirkstall Rd wasn't there?

Probably. I think that the whole race was slower than last year. Run Britain has ranked my slightly slower run on Sunday as a better performance than the faster run I did last year.

Andrew Pearson (2nd place, won last year, ex-GB) was 3mins slower this year, as was Gemma Smith who won the Ladies Race.
My time from last year, which put me somewhere in 80s place-wise would have put me in the top-60 this year.

Watched this as a friend was running. Very impressed with the organisation and very good support. Know there was a couple of big hills and the finish was a bit of a challenge but want to give it a go next year. Well done all!

Can I take off three mins and claim a 90 second PB then please?
It was very humid at the start, then the headwind in the last fees miles which was especially poor on the last bit of Kirkstall Road. Add that to the long hills and the uphill finish...

I really need to get my arse in gear for this - 5 weeks to go and I've not trained nearly enough for a decent time...

Wow this thread is old! I was rather confused by my post knowing I hadn't run it recently.
Did nobody race in 2012 or 2013?
