Thanks Winded, I know what you mean it does sound far just now but I know many cycling a go much further so get what you mean about being like running 5km. 😄 Fortunately I think my bike is comfy enough - though I can't tell if the sore backside comes from a rubbish saddle or being I used to longer distances 😂

You will quickly build up to 60 miles Jambomo, no worries, just build it up each week, making your ride longer. I'd suggest a short ride mid week and an ever increasing in length ride on a weekend day between now and then

Hello, I need some advice on sizing of cycling tights. I've seen some DHB ones on the wiggle sale, which I think would be pretty decent for what I want, but I'm a bit mistified by the sizing of them. Going on the online size guide and both Wiggle's size fitting guide thing where you put the measurements in and it recommednds a size, and via a sales rep on their online chat function, I've been recommended a size Small. Which, given I'm 6'4" seems a little silly. However, given the old DHB ones I want to replace are a size L and don't fit v well around the waist/midriff, maybe a bit smaller isn't totally ridiculous. However, the ASV range is supposed to be a "race fit" so I'm very worried that the size Small will just be too small? Any advice from anyone? I've pretty much reconciled with the fact that whatever I buy is going to be too short in the leg, but I'd like them to at least come to the top of my ankle bone so that I don't get a gap between socks and tights (so that's a 32" inside leg) They also recommended me an XS or S gillet, which again seems a bit on the small side, but does seem to tally with my waist and chest sizes - but again I'm concerned it'll be too short on the body. Sorry for long-winded post! |

Fozzy, I'd order the s (if that's been recommended) and exchange if they're the wrong size (wiggles returns are very easy and free). I've not got any dhb stuff, but tend to hover on the smaller end of medium in most things which at 6'3 is pretty daft in itself

I may have a few quid spare to buy some better bike bits soonish, and I was thinking about a set of ultegra calipers, anyone know if you can use them with 105 levers?
