I got my husbands old dawes racing bike out of the garage this morning, it must be about 30 years old and he hasnt ridden it for nearly 20. Its a bit battered but I think could be cleaned up, needs new tyres and tubes, and one gear cable, and one of the straps on the toe things is rusted off, but its as light as a feather and i think its is a good bike. have bikes changed that much in 30 years that i might be laughed at in a duathlon i am thinking of entering? ( not sure i will get the hang of those toe things though)

RT I went from riding a bike with no toe clips to riding one with and I got used to it very easily, however I now do not like to ride the other bike we have which doesn't have them.

Great, good for you BBLB.

Any chance of renaming it to mountain biking? I prefer sports to involve getting wet, muddy and preferably filthy :-)

I predominantly commute and road bike, although I have not been out on it in months! It has been to see M4P though :-)

I did a MTB off road tri as my first one, and loved it, so now looking to buy a secodn hand MTB. Next weekend I get introduced to it, so lets hope it will suit me :-)

Lucky - just ride a road bike with no mud guards, it has the same effect :-)
