I will have some advice please! Though not Tri related. I am planning to enter a sprint triathlon but I am due to run my first half marathon on Sunday. I haven't done any long runs per se. I ran /walked a half marathon in Jan but it was a lapped run (3 laps) and had a good break between each lap. The third lap I walked most of it. I need to say as well that I am using the run as a training run rather than a race and try to enjoy it as it's supposed to be a lovley route. My question is about pace. My 6 mile run pace has been around 11-11.5 min mile recently. I am intending trying to stick at a 12/13 min mile pace on Sunday . Is this the best tactic or would it be better to run walk as they will be water station every 3 mile. Run to each water station, walk though station and take on fluid. I was going to run with two ladies whose plan is the former . Mentally is it better to keep going at a slow pace so hopefully can sustain it

I would run nice and easy but walk the drink stations to make sure you stay hydrated
