Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hmm cake! Any left?

I have seen some great bread you have made @Ocelot Spleens , think in a blog. I can send you the recipe if you like.

More bread baking this weekend: tried out sourdough for the first time and need to practice my plaiting skills:

.

The bread is a bit solid but tastes good and is not too hard. You can get rye bread here which you could kill someone with. From the times when bread was baked once a month or so and needed to keep.

I'd love to be able to make proper bread (well, can make it but not eat it. :-( )

I googled Swiss carrot bread and came up with this Hazel: onlycrumbsremain.com Anything like yours?

Much better than shop bought stuff though Pix and easy to freeze in slices.

A complete cheat, but I mostly eat my own breadmaker-made bread. You can control what goes in it and it tastes so nice. Although I had a brief experimentation with sourdough in lockdown (didn't everyone!) I don't really have the time for homemade bread and the breadmaker is ideal.

I have a breadmaker Oranj unfortunately gluten free bread isn't anything like the real thing even when made in that.
