It's maybe more of a ginger cake than a gingerbread cake

After consulting with OH I went wrath something slightly different, Nigella's chocolate gingerbread cake (tweaked to be dairy free), without icing.

It didn't look spectacular or showstopper like on Bake Off and the like, but tasted pretty good.

Daughter decided she wanted to make some sourdough bread. I have some starter which had been languishing at the back of the fridge for a few months; after a couple of feeds it looked ready to go, so I pointed her at the Bake with Jack sourdough for beginners video and off she went, with zero intervention from me.

Pretty good for a first attempt! She seems to have a knack for baking.

Nice. I've had a couple of attempts at establishing a gf starter but to no avail.

It was a quick fruit bread for me this morning. No idea where I found the recipe and I don't remember baking it before but I'll be doing it again. Uses banana and yoghurt instead of any fat or eggs and converted well to gf.
