After consulting with OH I went wrath something slightly different, Nigella's chocolate gingerbread cake (tweaked to be dairy free), without icing. |

Daughter decided she wanted to make some sourdough bread. I have some starter which had been languishing at the back of the fridge for a few months; after a couple of feeds it looked ready to go, so I pointed her at the Bake with Jack sourdough for beginners video and off she went, with zero intervention from me. Pretty good for a first attempt! She seems to have a knack for baking. |

Nice. I've had a couple of attempts at establishing a gf starter but to no avail. It was a quick fruit bread for me this morning. No idea where I found the recipe and I don't remember baking it before but I'll be doing it again. Uses banana and yoghurt instead of any fat or eggs and converted well to gf. |
