Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

My usual gym routine. Pre mara I dropped legs. Post mara reintroducing gradually. Core and upper body (mostly vanity training) continue. And a wee swim, again during post mara recovery. :-) G

I think anything you can do that is “other movement” beyond the repetitive run/bike/swim/row etc movement is a good thing, particularly as we get older.

I’d think that the huge variety of movement you get in karate is going to be great to hitting the bits that don’t get hit otherwise.

Hoping to get out on the paddleboard and/or canoe a bit. Thrashing up and down for 40 mins really works lots of bits - arms obv but core and even legs too. Certainly different to running!

For any cross trainers who like to track that time, not just running miles, we have a thread for that!

Nick's been to the gym I note. That must be worth a thread bump.

I've been twice this month so far. Not good when I'm wanting to go twice a week. Same old excuses. I like to run, and I'm playing tennis sometimes four times a week...

Got some useful info on how the position of the feet when using a leg press frame works different muscle groups. [The informant had just finished pressing 190kg.]

I've been doing various bits and bobs of "strength" stuff over the last few weeks but mostly lighter weights.

This afternoon I've done 5 sets of 5 reps of deadlifts, cleans and Overhead Press building the weight in each set, along with 5 x 5 pull ups. It's the first time i've done a proper strength-focused weights session in a good while.

I've not been to the gym for nearly a fortnight. Bad Gepper.
