Spr - there is a bit of discussion around it , amazingly HIIT finds its way in but amazingly very anti aerobic endurance.

Like I say, probably fine unless you want to run :-)

I didn't know this thread existed until today. I been on the pink thread. 😀 I watched an insta reel about deadlifts this morning. She said "instead of just gripping the bar, imagine you are trying to break it in two" Interesting. I did try thinking that this morning; I think it helped push my shoulders back instead of rounding them. She said about pushing the floor away instead of pulling up, and don't reach down, stick your bum out and the weight will go down.

Anyway, I managed 3 reps of 60kg this morning, after my planned 6 x 45, 6 x 55, 6 x 55. Quite happy with that; nearly my bodyweight.

Pushing shoulders back instead of rounding them. Yes that. I find it maddeningly difficult. It’s all about improving posture for me, in the end.

Doing it in front of a mirror helps. My PT suggested I film myself, but I am quite allergic to taking selfies at the best of times. Filming myself feels beyond decadent and self-absorbed.

Did my usual 1 hr 10 in gym. Prob 20 mins plus of that is stretches and foam roller. But rest is core, dumbells and machine or barbell stuff. Same old for last 35 years really! :-) G

I keep seeing Youtube american fitness types saying things like "You've got to feel it in the ass!" which really doesn't appeal to me.

I mean, I'm not kink shaming and whatever works for you but.......;-)

And being slightly more serious the Physio who treated my achilles issues reckons that the root of both the achilles and sciatica issues are that I don't use my glutes enough when I run, so I compensate with a calf push, which then inflames the achilles over time. Most of the rehab I'm doing is glute work.
