Now, those hoodies are something else! Had a conversation with pretty much a whole branch of Costa Coffee in Tunbridge Wells about mine the other week

This is Tunbridge Wells we're talking about, though. Normally there's no way ever anyone in that town would dare cheapen themselves by talking to someone else. Let alone someone wearing a hoody.

A nice, big, juicy generalisation with which to start the day

Right, a quick wee straw poll.
Cheap race fee, no medal, no memento etc (£6 registered /£8 non reg for a 10k) or mid price, cheap medal (£8/10)
or
higher price, nice bling (£10 / 12 upwards)
Any preferences??

Don't really care, but once the entry price gets above a certain threshold, I demand a properly stocked goodie bag!

Trying to keep entry fee low to be honest. £10 would be a massive leap up.

I prefer medals most of all, there's always a twinge of disappointment of there isn't one. T-shirts are good too. In an ideal world, I'd have both.

Definitely "Cheap race fee, no medal" for me - I genuinely don't understand the fascination of collecting medals?!?
If you are going to have a memento (and I don't think every race needs one), then make it something useful (a tech t-shirt, a pair of socks, a hoodie, a towel, a bag, etc...)
