GimmeMedals
When I started racing in 2010, most races gave a cotton tshirt to the finishers, especially 10ks. 10ks that gave out medals were hard to find. Except for the Lincoln 10k which always has a fab medal.
Then the cotton tshirts were replaced by techy tshirts and I now have a lovely selection in a variety of colours.
There were plenty of people saying that racers don't want medals
But recently I have got at the end of most races, including 10ks. This, of course, makes me very happy. I am also noticing some pretty good 10k medal photos being posted in the gallery. Which makes me wonder - are racing medals making a comeback?

Medal, t-shirt and goody-bag should be compulsory in any race over 5k.

Very few medals for races round here at 10 miles or less. I've even done a HM without a medal.
Tech tees are great but they rarely fit properly, there's about three I regularly wear.
I'd like more medals please!

I have seen some pretty poor medals for 10k and even half-marathons. I agree with you Craig in that marathons should certainly have a medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Half-marathons should have two out of three, although a medal is a must.

Most of the races I've done recently have had medals at the end.
TBH I prefer what the Lichfield 10k organisers do which is to ask which size technical tee-shirt you would prefer when you enter the race.
