Everyone loves a medal..! :)

I've got my few hanging in the wardrobe - pretty discrete but I get to see them everyday. :)

I've got all mine mostly in a shoebox though there's one that came in a small plastic packet it had no ribbon so can't wear it (unless I buy some ribbon)

I hear there was an event last week in Kent with the biggest marathon finishers' medal in the UK (and probably Europe) this year. Just sayin' :-)

Medals are important. Certain race directors are aware of this :)

Thanks TZ, the KRR medal is still out on show. My eight year old son thought it was fantastic. How is next year's going to better it?

I love medals, but I also love practical mementos such as hoodies.

(but in response to the OP, I haven't really noticed a drop-off or increase in medals in races generally over the last few years).

I've never thought that I was that into medals, except:

- After moving house I've been very happy to rediscover 3 medals from races in the 90s to remind me where and when I ran
- I've never thrown one away
- Some certainly have more significance than others (Comrades Marathon, Boston Marathon)
- There are tons of them hanging on the curtain rail of my spare room where I've hung each as I've found it since the move

So I guess I do quite like the things. Now I just need a proper home for them that wont annoy my wife.

I am really happy when I get a creative giveaway at a race which is not a medal however. But it does have to be creative!

my Comrades & Boston medals are among my favourites - Comrades is so understated & simple.

Hoodies off the Fox in Feb (& medals !!).
